The Story
XicaliRamen started with a simple obsession: finding the best bowl of ramen in Southern California. What began as a personal quest — one bowl at a time, from the cramped counters of Little Tokyo to hidden strip-mall shops in Orange County — turned into this site.
Why “Xicali”?
Xicali is shorthand for Mexicali — a nod to the cross-border flavor influences that make SoCal ramen unique. Southern California isn't just a place where ramen exists; it's where Japanese traditions meet Mexican ingredients, where you can get a bowl topped with carnitas or find a vegan ramen spot next to a taco stand. XicaliRamen celebrates that fusion.
